Coffee Machine Maintenance

Keep your commercial espresso machine running like new with these simple maintenance tips.

Espresso machine maintenance

Keep steamer arms clean and free of milk residue. Wipe clean after frothing milk to maintain good hygiene practices.

Keep group handles and filter baskets clean by wiping out old coffee grounds between coffees. Group handles and filter baskets should be soaked in water at least daily.

Groups should be chemically cleaned at least twice a week — more frequently if very busy. Good machine maintenance not only ensures great coffee but also prolongs the life of your machine.

Keep your workstation clean by wiping down all chrome and steel surfaces with a damp cloth. Use a separate cloth for surfaces, steamer arms and groups.

Coffee grinder maintenance

Minimise the amount of coffee you grind for a service period to keep it fresh. End each service with little or no ground coffee in the dosing chamber — none should be left at the end of the day.

Keep the grinder hopper clean and free from coffee oils. Periodically empty and clean the entire hopper.
