Roasted coffee needs to be stored correctly in order to maximise its freshness and shelf life. The one-way valve that we use on our packaging helps maximise the freshness of the coffee. We recommend storing the coffee in a cool, dry and dark place.
Care should be taken to ensure the coffee is ground and served fresh. As such the grinder hopper should only be filled with enough coffee to get through the service period or at most the day’s trade.
Managing the amount of coffee ground and stored in the doser also needs to be considered. It is recommended that ground coffee be used within the hour. Good practice is to run down the amount of ground coffee in the doser when approaching the close of business to ensure no ground coffee is left overnight.
